God is full of love, mercy, and grace, and wants only the best for us. His desire
is for us to walk daily with Him on His path. To keep us on that path, He has
set up guidelines for our good!
Also, remember there is an enemy who is constantly scheming to get us off
God’s path. We must ask for discernment* so that we can be aware/alert of
his plots and plans.
*James 1:5 says that if we lack wisdom, all we have to do is ask God, and He
gives it generously. Throughout Proverbs, these are also listed: wisdom,
knowledge, understanding, common sense, discernment, insight, and
revelation. We need these attributes every day. So ask and receive!
NOTE:
If you have not yet prayed the prayer to receive Jesus as your Lord and
Savior, go to Your New Walk 1 for the prayer that will put you on God’s
path. You must have a heart connection with Jesus to start on God’s special
path just for you. A good way to know if you really made that connection
is to check your heart and see where it leads you. We still have our old nature
to deal with and that will take time to retrain but your heart is where the
change begins.
1 John 2:4-10 tells us that if we are true believers, we will walk in God’s love by
following in Jesus’ footsteps. To find out exactly how to do that read the first four
books of the new testament. You will find that Jesus walked in love at all times and
we can too with the help of Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 13:4 Love (Jesus) is patient, love is kind… love rejoices with the
truth and always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
DECLARATION:
Jesus, because I choose to walk with You and be like You: I am patient; I am gentle and kind; I
walk in love; I am happy to see others blessed; I walk in truth at all times.
As I walk in Your footsteps, Jesus, I draw closer to God. (1 John 2:6)
1 John 1:6-9 IF we say that we are walking with God and yet continue to walk
in sin (holding hands with the enemy), we are lying to ourselves and others.
IF we admit and confess our sins (turning away from them and going the opposite
way), God is faithful and forgives us. (paraphrased)
PRAYER:
Lord, open my spiritual eyes and ears to hear what You are saying. Help me understand
You are always with me to help and guide me through life.
Amen and Amen
NOTE:
Please get your heart ready to receive God’s word/warning. The scriptures in
post 4 are strong but necessary. When you have truly connected with Jesus in your
heart, then what the world sees as giving up or giving in you see as God’s instructions
AND you want to follow them.
Romans 12:2 (in the Message Bible) Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture (and surroundings) that you fit into it without even thinking. (You must be aware!)
Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. (And you
WILL want to do what pleases Him)
