Our most important relationships are with God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.
Here is a small list of attributes of the Trinity.
Knowing God, the Father, Jesus, the Son, and Holy Spirit,
God’s Spirit –
is essential for our new walk.
God, the Father, is also known as:
Adonia – our Great Lord
Elohim – the Creator
El Shaddai – The All-Sufficient One
Immanuel – God with us
El Roi – God Who knows all and sees all AND loves us unconditionally!
Jesus, the One and only Son of God, is:
Our Lord and Savior.
Lord is when we give Him all power and authority
over our lives.
We yield/relinquish to Jesus our
whole heart (lives). He is our Savior (the Redeemer
of sin and Saver of souls) and we are literally
saved from spending eternity in hell.
Jesus is our Friend: We can talk to Him about anything and
everything whenever we want; He is the Best Listener and will
never leave us or abandon us. He is our Healer and Deliverer:
Jesus is the One Who calms the storms – that includes the
storms in our lives. He is patient, slow
to anger, faithful and true.
Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit in us. He is:
Our Guide, Teacher, Protector,
Counselor, Advocate, Truth, and Shield.
As we learn to listen to His voice and obey His promptings,
we stay on God’s path. The Trinity is three separate
Spirits – all representing the One Father.
John 1:1-4 – In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word
was with God, and the Word was
God. He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God.
ALL things were created through Him. In Him
was life, and the Life was the light of mankind.
The Heart of the Christian message:
God became a human; He was born to ordinary people in
a stable. He came down from the comfort of heaven; so
that He could take us back to heaven. Jesus paid for our
mistakes; so that we wouldn’t have to. His death was a
sacrifice for our sins. He was our substitute!
2 Corinthians 5:19 For God was in Christ, restoring the
world to Himself, no longer counting
men’s sins against them but blotting them out.
Verse 20b …receive the love God offers…
Our first step to reconciling with God is to make sure our
hearts are one with Jesus. A simple prayer,
made from our hearts, will start us on God’s path and
on our way to heaven.
Romans 10:9 makes salvation very clear: If you
confess (declare, announce) with your mouth
Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised
Him from the dead, you will be saved.
So it’s with our mouths AND our hearts that we accept
Jesus as our Lord through FAITH (a strongly
held belief), thus becoming a child of God and
joint-heirs with Jesus.
This is a heart exchange – we accept Jesus as God’s
One and Only Son (thus receiving His heart,
His ways, His path) and we give Jesus our
heart (life). When this occurs, which is salvation,
Holy Spirit comes to live inside us.
STORY:
My granddaughter explained that when we
ask Jesus to be our Lord, God pinches
off a part of Himself and puts that part in us, known as
Holy Spirit. What a beautiful picture!
What an Amazing gift!
Holy Spirit IS God’s Spirit; so to reiterate – God is living
in us in the form of His Spirit – Wow!
Some may have never had salvation explained clearly
or some may have put this prayer off
thinking, “One day…” Well, this is that “One day.”
There’s no time to waste because too much is
at stake – like where we spend eternity (forever life after
death) – heaven or hell?
