When we are truly walking on the path with Jesus, we’ll want to please Him daily.
Isaiah 30:21 You will hear a voice saying: This is the way; walk in it.
My granddaughter drew this picture at a very early age. We need
this as a daily reminder to be “aware” of our words, emotions, etc.,
and anything that would take us off God’s path. The benefits
of staying ON God’s path are immeasurable!
If we are living in these sins below, either we were never saved or the enemy has
a tight grip on us! It’s obvious we’re not on God’s path; so that would mean we’re
walking with the enemy. This is dangerous territory because doors are opened
for demons to attack. If we find ourselves under attack, immediately ask God to
spotlight where we strayed and then repent. God loves us and is always ready to
take us back and close the door (slam it tight) on the enemy. Finding out the answer
to where we strayed can come to our minds immediately OR it can take some
time. We have to stay open to the voice of Holy Spirit and be willing to
change our ways when He tells us.
NOTE:
This next session is for serious believers who want what God has
for them. There is no time to play around and do this later. Later
is NOW! In post 2 we learned how to start on God’s path; In
post 3 we talked about God’s love, grace, and mercy. It’s time to
buckle our seat belts and make the decision to follow Jesus all the
way. Please read this with an open heart knowing that God loves us
and wants to keep us close to Him. Also, remember the scriptures
below are NOT suggestions…
Ephesians 5:3-5
Have NOTHING, not even a hint, to do with:
sexual immorality (sex out of marriage),
greed (intense and selfish desire for something) or
ALL (moral) impurity (indecent, offensive behavior)
Guard your words – there should be no filthiness (obscenity,
indecency) or coarse joking or insults…
instead, let your words be of praise and thanksgiving.
the Amplified tells us: For as believers, our way of life reflects the
validity of our faith.
Verse 5: Whoever chooses to live like this will not enter the kingdom
of Jesus and God.
Ephesians 5:7-10 Do NOT participate or even associate with those in
rebellion against God. For once you were darkness, BUT now you are light
in the Lord. Live as children of light and find out what pleases the Lord.
God wanted to be sure His children got the message. So check out
these scriptures below to see how He reinforced His rules.
1 Corinthians 6:9 & Galatians 5:19-21
God’s list of who will NOT enter heaven:
1. Sexually immoral
2. Idolaters
3. Adulterers
4. Homosexuals
5. Cheaters/Thieves
6. Drunkards
7. Slanders/Revilers
8. Witchcraft
9. Jealousy
10. Holding unforgiveness (Matthew 6:14-15)
Galatians 5:19 lists, again, the practices of the sinful nature. The
practices of sin – meaning to do something over and over. (read all
of Galatians 5:19-21)
Then 5:22-23 talks about the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Declare these fruits often and you will see a difference in your life.
REMINDER:
When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our number one goal
is to follow Jesus and please Him. SO, if we’re practicing sin (doing it
over and over) thinking only of our pleasure, are we really a child of
the King? For sure, we cannot continue to live in sin and expect to
spend eternity with Jesus. If your struggles continue, Click here to go back
to Your New Walk 1 and say the prayer again asking Jesus to
be your Lord and Savior. Then repent and ask Holy Spirit for His
help; He is our Helper.
These scriptures are very strong, and we need to take them seriously.
God makes His word very clear But since He gave us free will, the
choice is always ours!
