Binding and Loosing Angels and Demons
This is definitely GOOD NEWS!
Binding: An action or something that ties together, attaches or holds down. Also limits or holds
someone to an agreement. (In Matthew 16:19, we have an agreement with Jesus as His children)
Loosing: To free from confinement, to set free, release. The American Heritage
Dictionary says: to let fly!
Matthew 16:19 Jesus: I give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatsoever you bind on
earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
The Passion translation: I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that
which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which has already been
released in heaven. (Also read Matthew 18:18)
We need to understand that we do NOT battle against people but we do battle against
what’s influencing them. This may be a lot to take in but it’s absolutely true.
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood (humans), but against the
rulers, against the powers (words), against the world forces of this present darkness,
against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places.
Verse 13 says: We MUST wear ALL the armor that God provides so we’re protected as we
confront the enemy – we are victorious!

When someone is throwing insults (words) at us, we need to know that a demon or two or
three is behind this scheme. Recognizing this fact and remaining quiet takes 1. Help from
Holy Spirit 2. Keeping our mouths shut when we really want to yell back 3. Being “aware”
of the situation 4. Binding the enemy and loosing God’s angels.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (feigning goodness); so it’s no surprise that his followers, also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.
We need to recognize the enemy’s tactics and bind him up immediately! This is where discernment (the ability to judge well) is needed because these evil spirits “size us up”, then “set us up”. Spiritual discernment is given by Holy Spirit and we should ask for this everyday along with wisdom, knowledge, understanding, common sense, insight and revelation.
If we’re not “aware” of Satan’s tactics, we can fall headfirst into all kinds of trouble, quickly.
Discernment gives us an “on and off” switch to stop and examine our thoughts to see who
they line up with. Very important!
2 Corinthians 10:5b Take every thought captive (grab hold of to examine) to the obedience
(must line up with God’s word) of Christ.
P.S. I was just thinking that sometimes it seems easier to go with the flow or the world
BUT then you get to reap what the world reaps – death. Yes, it requires strength and
discipline to choose God’s ways BUT the rewards are over and beyond what we can imagine!!!
Choose life!
Psalm 119:130 Your words (the Bible) gives light and understanding.
Verse 105: Your word is a lamp before my feet and a light for my journey.
The more we read the Bible the more we can discern God’s truth and we will not be
easily deceived. Again God has written out everything we need to know. We are responsible
for reading the Word and praying over it.
Accusing spirits tempt us to misunderstand other people. Their goal is to bring us
down along with others. Their mission is to destroy all that God has for us
including our peace and joy. Their battleground is our human mind.
The Accuser constantly points out our weaknesses to others and their weaknesses to us.
When we realize where the accusations (our thoughts) are coming from, it is our
responsibility to take the authority Jesus has given to us and bind these suckers up!
2Corinthians 10:4-5 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. They
have divine power to demolish the enemy’s strong places or camps. V.5 We destroy every
claim and every reason that keeps people from knowing God. We keep every thought
under control in order to make it obey Christ. (Declare: My thoughts line
up with the Word of God!)
Always say “In the Name of Jesus” when doing this. The demons do not have to obey us
BUT they shake when they hear Jesus’ Name or the blood of Jesus.
Prayer/declaration: I am covered in the blood of Jesus; no weapon formed against me can
stand! I put on the armor of God – the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, my
feet covered with the Gospel of Good News, I hold the shield of faith, I wear the helmet
of salvation, I carry the sword of the Spirit. (read Ephesians 6:11-18)
Prayer 2: In the Name of Jesus, I cancel ALL of Satan’s authority over this situation.
Accusing and bickering spirits, you are bound from _____; you can no longer harass them!
Angels, you are loosed to bring love, joy and peace. Holy Spirit, thank You for healing
hearts and showing _____ Your Truth. Amen and Amen

DECLARATION
My family and I are filled with God’s wisdom, knowledge, understanding, common sense,
discernment, insight, and revelation. We step into Jesus’ cloak of compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience. We tie the cloak with love, forgiveness and thankfulness.
(taken from Colossians 3:12-15) I put a circle of Jesus’ blood around each one in my family
and their possessions; enemy, you can not cross that line. No weapon or hidden trap can
stand. We have the mind of Christ and are filled with joy and peace.
Phillippians 4:8 Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, good report, excellent and
praiseworthy – dwell, ponder and think on these. Amen and Amen
When we take the authority Jesus gave us and bind and loose, all of heaven backs us. Now
that’s Good News! God is waiting on us to do our part and for many of us we just didn’t
understand BUT now we do!
Happy Binding and Loosing!
