If there is truly a desire to follow Jesus and allow Him to be in charge
(He only wants the best for us; His plans are good and full of hope
– Jeremiah 29:11), please pray this prayer:
PRAYER:
Jesus, I believe You are God’s One and only Son, and I believe God
raised You from the dead. Please come into my heart and be my
Lord and Savior. Forgive me of all of my sins. I am now a new
person, a new creation; I choose to follow You all the days of my life.
Thank You, Lord, for filling me with Your Holy Spirit. (taken from
Romans 10:9-10) Amen and Amen
Salvation is a “free gift” from God. It is by His grace (God’s remarkable
compassion and favor drawing us to Christ) that we have been saved
through faith and not of ourselves (ANY works that we have done).
Ephesians 2:8-9.
For example, serving in the church or even a soup kitchen is very
honorable to the Lord but has absolutely nothing to do with
our salvation. Just receive this gift by faith (believe in your heart)
and know that Jesus went to the cross for each one of us
so we can spend eternity in heaven with Him and our Father.
If you prayed this prayer for the first time, Congratulations! The angels
are rejoicing over you! Luke 15:10 ..there is joy in the presence
of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
STORY:
My husband, Jerry, and I were brought up in church. When my mother
unexpectedly died, a pastor knocked on our door because a neighbor told him
what had happened. I had lots of questions, so the pastor agreed to meet
with me. God is so good! He had definitely sent this pastor!
The first time we attended the new church proved to be the most important
night of our lives. The pastor explained salvation so clearly that it meant the
difference between heaven and hell for us. We had never heard of a heart
relationship with Jesus. We had both believed in Jesus but it was head
knowledge. That night we said the prayer to receive Jesus as our Lord and
Savior and saw a change in our lives right away. Two weeks later we were
baptized in the church.
Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
We enjoyed the new church and grew in the knowledge of the Lord. That is the key
to a good church “growing (increasing in wisdom and knowledge) in the Lord.”
REMINDER:
Satan believes in Jesus and knows Who He is. Pride took over, and he decided
he wanted to be the one on the throne – you can see where that got him. He also
convinced one-third of the angels (now demons) to follow. They are working
hard to fill hell BUT…
we are co-workers with Holy Spirit and our goal is to win people to Jesus
by sharing our love for Him and His love for us.
As one tract worded it: You can miss heaven by 18 inches – the distance
between your head and heart.
You can’t just say “magical” words and wake up in heaven.
Romans 10:9
“If you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that ‘Jesus is Lord’ and in
your HEART believe that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
NOTE:
If at first there is not a change in your life, then
pray the salvation prayer again asking the
Lord to open your spiritual eyes and
ears and to enlighten your understanding.
(Ephesians 1:18)
The MOST important change would be that you want to please Jesus in
all that you say and do. Be patient and persistent; the rewards
are Mighty!
DECLARATION:
I am a child of the King. I walk in His favor. He is working all things for my
good. I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His strength.
Yes, Mr. Jerry, I am sure. I hope you will continue to read the posts and I will be praying for your eyes to be open to the Truth!
